The current Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Office (CEO) is Anthony G. “Tony” Petrello. Mr. Petrello earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Harvard Law School and a Master of Science (MS) in Mathematics from Yale University. Before Nabors, Petrello found employment opportunities with Baker & McKenzie Law Firm and focused on general corporate law, taxation and international arbitration. He was also the managing partner from 1986 until 1991 when he resigned to take on Nabors Industries.
Nabors Industries, under the leadership of Petrello maintains approximately 500 drilling rigs in more than 25 countries. The company is in high demand due to the experience of the drilling crews, as well as the timely response time the company is able to deliver. Nabors drill rigs are especially in high demand in the shale fracking business.
Petrello became a member of the Nabors Board of Directors, along with the Executive Committee of the Board and then took on the role of President and CEO. In addition to his operational role with the company, Petrello also provides strategic planning initiatives and company direction. His insight has helped the company adapt and continue to prosper in an ever changing and competitive environment.
Anthony Petrello also serves as a board of director for Stewart & S5tevenson, LLC and Hilcorp Energy Corp. He also is a Board of Trustees of the Texas Children’s Hospital and a tireless advocate for clinical programs and research to address the needs of children experiencing neurological disorders. His expertise has contributed to positive growth the companies have experienced, as well as provide greater and more efficient services to the consumers.
